- Do you have access to a Falcon? If so, then why not run the latest version
- of the binaries, and see what you think... This is the best idea, as then
- you can really make up your own mind...
-
- However...
-
- As knowone else seems to want to commit themselves, here are my impressions
- of Badmood and DEE.
-
- Badmood:
-
- 1) DSP not utilised fully yet (although partially in the DSP13a.TTP versions)
- 2) No texture mapping
- 3) No baddies
- 4) No sound
- 5) No collision detection with walls - ie you can walk through them
- 6) Map, with postion indicator.
- 7) Resizeable screen, to allow frame-rate increase, with smaller screens
- 8) Works with Falcon-FX card
- 9) Works with Doom, Doom2 and Heretic IWADs, and PWADs. (Not Hexen.)
-
- Basically, good start, but not playable yet. Speed, well I'm not commenting
- on this one.. (I dont want to quote a figure, check the frame-rate counter
- yourself...)
-
-
- DEE, which is not coded by anyone on this list, but is similar:
-
- 1) DSP not used at all.
- 2) Does Texture map.
- 3) Does baddies
- 4) No sound
- 5) Collision detection with walls
- 6) Map with postition indicator.
- 7) Resizeable screen (I couldn't get this to work correctly...)
- 8) Doesn't work with the FX card (or at least, not Hendrik's)
- 9) Works with Doom. (Version we have definately doesn't do Doom2 comercial,
- or heretic shareware - this is what I tried it with.)
-
- Complete game, but too slow to play, even with small screensize. With DSP,
- it would probably, but not as fast as the Badmood one...
-
-
- Um, thats about it...

- None of the above is in any way an offical press release, but is just my own
- personal opinion, and is nothing to do with anything... :-)
